Backcountry Film Festival Tickets
This marks the 9th year the Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival takes to the road to share the joys of big mountain winter adventure. The film festival starts off it's tour in Boise, Idaho before traverse the globe to over 100 locations in order to share these short documentaries with others. The benefits from the film tour go towards local organizations promoting advocacy, snow safety, and outdoor recreation.
The Winter Wildlands Alliance was founded in 2000 when it became evident that skiers, snowshoers, snowboarders, winter mountaineers and all other winter backcountry enthusiasts needed to make themselves heard regarding the sensitive issues that have adverse effects on the winter backcountry.
The line up for the 2013/2014 Backcountry Film Festival is as follows:
Best of Festival: Valhalla - from Sweetgrass Productions is the tale of one man’s search to rediscover the freedom of his youth.
Best Conservation Film: Bolton Valley - from Red Reel Productions is the story of how a small community fought to save their beloved ski area.
Best Short: Bigger, Braver - Filmmaker Luc Mehl turns the camera on a young female athlete who shares her insight into the courage and strength involved in seeking big mountain adventure.
