Skiing should be fun - and that's what the Black Diamond AMPerage is all about. This "playful" mid-fat ski is designed to huck backcountry booters, make pivot turns in the trees, and smear-turn its way through the powder. Unlike the similarly-sized, super-stiff, hard-charging BD Zealot, the AMPerage loves to turn and spin with its deep sidecut and underfoot camber. Full tip and tail rocker combined with a 115mm waist allow it to turn quickly on the groomers too. Torsion Box construction with a poplar-and-birch core and Formula One Technology reinforcement ribs lend the ski a high degree of torsional rigidity, while an Ollie Bar tail gives extra pop on take-offs and prevents wheelie-outs on landings.
Optimal Use: 60% soft snow / 40% hard snow

BD Amperage 185 cm
In my review below
I meant I mounted them +1 cm (not +10CM!)
BD Amperage, great tele ski
I bought a pair of these late last season. At first I didn't like this ski very much, but when we had even a light dusting of powder, they came alive. They have a somewhat narrow sweet spot, you have to be on your game a bit or they will ski you. They ski better with a stiffer boot too, for edge control on hard snow, see Read More...

I have been skiing them more this year, and now I really like the ski for all conditions. Even on hard , icy snow, I can throw in a few Parallel turns, and they do fine. While not a great ice ski with 115 underfoot, they are very stable, and when the snow is hard, just point 'em and go. They can make surprisingly quick turns on softer snow. My Amps are 183 cm.
I have them mounted up with NTN Freedoms, +10 cm . I usually ski them with the Prophet NTN boots.
great powder ski
A real pleasure to ski in powder and not bad on the groomed as long as it's smooth and soft. Good for sidecountry trips.
