Bolton Nordic and Backcountry Area has been saved from private purchase!

Congratulations to the Vermont Land Trust! All their fundraising efforts to save Bolton Valley Nordic and Backcountry land from private purchase have paid off! For a little over a year, the Vermont Land Trust has been working around the clock to raise the $1.85 million required to prevent the land from being sold to private investors.

The results from Patagonia Advocate Weeks are in! Patagonia worked with retailers to in the area and ran a two week long promotion that ran from the October 1st – 14th. The promotion was simple, for every pair of Patagonia Footwear sold by retailers Patagonia would donate $10 to the Green Mountain Club.

Congratulations to Rozalia Project, last month’s recipient of our Nickel Bag Donation! Nickel Bag is a program to encourage the customers who shop with us to not take a shopping bag. For every bag saved we donate a nickel to an environmental based nonprofit, last month was Rozalia Project. We were about to save 4,182 shopping bags, resulting in a $209.10 donation.
