The X1 Strike is a single-skin tent using Crux's new X-tex fabric. The folks at Crux are hesitant to call the X-tex fabric revolutionary – it still has limitations – but it does present significant improvements and advantages over the existing PTFE-type breathable membrane fabrics that are currently used. X-tex is a polyester fabric that is coated with polyurethane impregnated with activated carbon. It is fully waterproof to over 20,000 mm and is highly breathable.
The Strike has a diagonal pole arrangement. The poles are inserted through external pole sleeves, before a third pole, positioned internally, is added to create significantly more space at the head of the tent. The door also becomes much easier through which to enter or exit. The guy points loop around the poles themselves taking stress directly off the seams.
- Third pole for extra headroom
- Central roof vent
- Mesh panel in door
- Tie off loop in roof
- Eight guy points
