This past year saw the kick off of the first annual Vermont Eco-Fest in Battery Park here in Burlington Vermont. The festival had bands, games, an auction and speakers who talked with the crowd about a range of environmental issues. The festival also featured a showcase of local businesses who are actively working to improve the manner in which our community and environment interact. The Outdoor Gear Exchange organized and put on this festival because we saw a population with a strong green consciousness as well as many green businesses that didn’t have a place to meet and talk face to face. We were incredibly please by the response and the turnout at the festival and are exited to make this an annual event where people can meet and find resources to lead greener lives.
