Description

Active pursuits in the mountains demand clothing which allows for freedom of movement even as it provides protection from the elements. That's why the Mountain Equipment Trojan Jacket is cut from W.L. Gore's WINDSTOPPER fabric, a highly stretchy soft-shell material that provides complete wind protection while maintaining an adequate degree of breathability to prevent overheating. Jackets like the Flux are the foundation around which winter layering systems are based; you may strip to your base layer while hiking uphill through protected trees, or pull on an insulated jacket during a rest stop above treeline, but the balance of protection and temperature regulation offered by the Flux ensure that it will serve as your outer layer for the majority of your trip, whether you are committed high on the Grand Jorasses or simply taking a winter jaunt up Camel's Hump.

ABOUT MOUNTAIN EQUIPMENT

Based in Cheshire, United Kingdom, Mountain Equipment has been going Above and Beyond since 1961. For over five decades, they have been equipping expeditions for the harshest conditions on earth. They have participated in every British first ascent of an 8000m peak, been part of more than 175 Everest summits by International Mountain Guides and Sherpas, and equipped unsupported trips to the North and South Poles. They made the very first one-piece down suit for mountaineering use, for Don Whillan's 1970 Annapurna expedition. So whether you are going on expedition to the Himalaya or learning the ropes in North Wales (or Vermont!) you can do so safe in the knowledge that your Mountain Equipment gear has been proven to perform.
