Petzl Basic Ascender

This redesigned version of a tried and true Petzl ascender boasts a new cam opening lever for easier one-handed or gloved operation.

description

Identical to Petzl's Ascension model, but designed without a handle to save weight
Made of lightweight, formed, sheet aluminum with durable steel cams; textured plastic cam lever gives a positve grip
Used for hauling gear or for self-belay on fixed top ropes in rescue situations or mountaineering
Now accomodates rope sizes from 8 to 13 mm in diameter, thanks to a slight reshaping of the wall of the ascender
Two rigging holes on the bottom of the frame now permit separate attachment of etriers and safety lanyards
