Sterling Evolution Duetto 8.4 mm x 60 M Dry

Sterlings Evolution Series is completely re-engineered to give you the ideal balance of impact force, weight, and fall ratings.Another trademark is their firm, yet supple, and smooth sheath that produces less drag through gear and over rock and quicker clipping of gear. DryCore™, a Sterling proprietary coating process applied to all core yarns, has also been improved to reduce not only moisture absorption but also yarn-on-yarn abrasion. This helps maintain the original strength and elongation properties of the core in wet conditions. We have developed a new process that greatly improves dry treatment of rope. As previously noted studies have shown that wet ropes are more difficult to handle and their dynamic performance is drastically reduced. Our new dry treated ropes provide an additional safety factor for alpinists, especially on ice, mixed ground and in winter. Protecting the rope from water absorption also eliminates weight increase, risk of freezing in cold weather, and slows the wearing of the rope considerably.In conventional ropes, it is usually only the sheath fibers that are dry-treated. Sterling Dry Ropes not only have a superior coating on the sheath, but also have DryCore standard on all its cores, reducing the ropes natural inclination to absorb moisture to greater levels. Sterlings Arid system ensures a more effective and durable water resistance, while improving handling, resistance to friction, dirt, and durability.
