It's mud season now in Vermont's Champlain Valley (aka "the banana belt") but there's still plenty of snow up high! That means it's time to start selling off our 2012/2013 fleet of demo skis.
Here we have a pair of Volkl Nunataq 178cm touring skis mounted up with Dynafit TLT Vertical bindings - a $1,305 value. The Nunataq is a fully-rockered freeride touring ski that is superbly maneuverable in deep snow. Volkl's freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core with two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates secure screw retention and stability, while the softer poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The balance of the Nunataq's performance is 70% powder and 30% groomed snow.
